In our lives, we all take risks. Some of us try to avoid them at all
costs. Some take more risks than they should. But, as with all true
risks, there is a reward for those who take them, and see them through.
By taking risks in the stock market, some have gotten wealthy. And by
asking a girl out on a date, sometimes hearts are broken...and sometimes
relationships that last forever are born.
As we look at the book
of Mark today, Jesus tells us in no uncertain terms that faith comes
with inherent risk. Of being harassed, mocked...all the way up to and
including the loss of one's life, or health, or freedom. But unlike many
risks, there is a sure reward to those who remain faithful to
Jesus...an eternity in peace with Christ. Have you been willing to take
