June 25, 2017: The paradox of trials and spiritual growth

This week, Pastor Hodge expounded on James 1:1-4, some of the harder verses of the Bible. In the start of his new sermon series, "The paradox of trials and spiritual growth",hiss first installment is "Trials of life produce endurance". In verses 1-2, we see that trials should bring us "great joy", and that trials produce endurance. How can we have that joy? In God's word, we see that in a mature believer, this is not only possible, but by the power of the Holy Spirit, we can draw on God to still have joy in times of trouble.

This Sunday is celebrated as Father's Day across our country. The importance of fathers cannot be understated in a family, but there is a much greater Father who is perfect, holy, and is the Father of all.
